The Compound Effect

As I glanced around this morning, pondering on my blog topic for today, I was drawn to my copy of ‘The Compound Effect’ by Darren Hardy, which is sitting on my desk.

I read this book a few years ago…and wished I had read it when I was in my early twenties, when I could have saved a pound a week and still had time to become a millionaire!

It’s not about having time though, it is about doing a little bit, every day, to reach your goals…taking one small step every day to get where you want to be…even eating that elephant, one bite at a time (I have always wondered why anyone would want to eat an elephant, but I get the gist of the metaphor!).

In other words, breaking down those apparently huge tasks into small, manageable chunks which mean you can actually work towards getting the job done, without feeling overwhelm!

‘The Compound Effect’ is on my desk because I heard Kash sharing these concepts with one of his sons earlier this week. It served as a timely reminder for me, as we embark upon the seemingly enormous task of sorting, collating, editing and writing content for the new website…one page at a time and the job will get done! And more importantly, every one page we do takes us a small step closer to completing the task.

So remember, no matter how small the step, as long as its taking you in the direction you want to go, then it counts!
