There really is light at the end of the tunnel - at last!
My guiding card for the year was 'Challenge' - not the best card to have hoped for, but certainly one that has proved to be accurate...which miffed me a little because it was also my card last year! It turns out that last year was just the warm up act for this year!
This year has been a long year of tunnel navigating, feeling around in the dark a fair bit and hoping that I was going in the right direction...both on personal and business journeys! Its less about not knowing where I was going and more about it taking a long time to get there, with so many distractions and demands on my time that were not of my making.
Yet here we are in December and I really can see light at the end of at least one particularly long tunnel...and just seeing that light gives me the renewed momentum to carry on...Its bright, its warm, its glowing and its giving me the energy to take those last few steps...yes, we are nearly there!
Of course, as we often say, its about the journey, not the destination. I agree and the light at the end of the tunnel is never the destination, but at least its a stopping point - a service station - somewhere to rest, take stock and renew my energy before embarking on the next leg of the journey.
How wonderfully fitting that I find myself at this point on the lead up to Christmas - the one time of year when pretty much everyone takes a break for the festive season...which means that come January 2nd, my In box won't be overflowing as it usually is when 'normal' breaks are taken!
So I would encourage you to hang in there, however dark it might seem at the moment...because sometimes, you just don't know exactly when you are going to turn a corner and see that light at the end of the tunnel...
